We consider improvements in elastic and strength characteristics of composites as a result of reinforcing composites using a small quantity of transversally oriented fibers. Though the improvements in transversal and shear properties are small, we get significant increase in the shear modulus and rigidity characteristics of fiberglass plastics under compression when the content volume of fibers is greater than 6 %. The specific fracture viscosity also increases. As a result, operational properties of composites reinforced in such a way should be improved.
