Study of the initial stage of process of press forming of tubes made from powdered materials with regard to the vertical shrinkage

Abstract:

The problem of modeling of process of press forming of tubes made from powdered materials consists in the exact prediction of the final dimensions of workpieces. It is known that a moving internal boundary may change the direction of its motion during the process of press forming. It is noted in publications that failure to meet the specifications on final shape may be a consequence of distortions taking place at the initial stage of the process. The aim of this paper is to determine the direction of the motion of boundaries at the initial instant of the process of press forming.
