Some patterns of relationship of motion of protein solutions under the action of surface tension forces in horizontally located micro-porous strips made from nitrate of cellulose

Abstract:

We studied experimentally the motion of frontlines of solutions of casein and human serum albumin when these frontlines move over nitrocellulose porous strips used in a variety of express tests of state of health. The speed of motion of these frontlines depends both on the protein concentration and on the distance of the actual position of a frontline from its start position. To describe the process of migration of solutions, we use the Washbern equation. It is established that the migration speed of protein solutions over porous mediums decreases practically linearly with decreasing of the protein concentration.
