Simplified models of deformation of isotropic porous materials

Abstract:

We present a mathematical description of deformation properties of open-porous materials. An approach used is based on the analysis of simplified structural models. We get values of the reduced Young modulus for porous plastics as a function of inclusion volume fraction of solid phase. The results obtained are compared with known data for foam rubbers and polyurethane foams.
