Numerical simulation of penetration in layered targets



One of the characteristic features of the development of modern branches of engineering (space-rocket, aerospace, defense, etc.) is widely used in the construction of new advanced materials. A number of technical devices used assembly consisting of layers with different physical and mechanical properties, including the layers of composite and ceramic materials. Most clearly, this tendency for facilities working in conditions of intensive dynamic loads. This paper discusses the features of deformation and fracture of layered barriers, which include ceramic and composite layers under the action of high–speed projectiles. Solving problems in three-dimensional formulation using a probabilistic approach to the processes of destruction.
