Mathematical modeling of hot isostatic pressing the toroidal shell process

, , ,

Abstract:

The problem of pressing the toroidal powder shell is under consideration. A qualitative solution is presented given that the powdered material is treated as plastically compressible gas, while capsules’ behavior is described in the frame of classical elastic shell theory. This problem is considered in complete set up as well. Green’s yield condition is assumed for the powdered material. The perfect plasticity and incompressibility conditions are assumed for the capsule material. In case of complete set up the solution is obtained to a first approximation. In both settings the problem is solved through expansion by small parameter equal to torus sectional radius – big radius ratio.
