Edge effects at compression test of the prismatic spacimen of composite material with large cell structure

Abstract:

The article is dedicated to numerical simulation of experiment on compression of the prismatic specimen from the three-dimensional-reinforced composite material with large cell structure. The structurally-phenomenological approach is applied to the description of deformation and fracture of the specimen. In work influence of a friction on strength and fracture mechanism is considered. It is shown that the friction essentially reduces experimentally measured values of strength.
