Blood as a structured media: Rheology of blood and deformability of erythrocyte membranes

,

Abstract:

In our review we consider dysfunctions in blood rheology as an ‘error’ of the transfer of information about the state of main cells of blood – erythrocytes. We regard the circulatory system as a complicated biological-composite system and consider different levels of organization of this. Assuming the composite materials of biological nature to be the systems with morphological functional links established in result of evolution, we analyze the spatial pattern of the vascular channel and cytoplasmic membrane of erythrocyte. We study the influence of reduction of the membrane deformability on the development of the pathology, followed by haemorheological disfunctions.
