The density functional theory and pseudopotential method are used to study the interaction of nanoscale species of different origins. It has been shown that the low-speed cutting is followed with diffusion intermixing and plastic deformation and leads to the intensive destruction of a cutting instrument. At high-speed cutting intermixing and plastic deformation doesn’t manage to happen, a cutter does not destruct, and cutting goes more smoothly. The cutting force decreases with increase of speed.
