The prognosis of functional accuracy in the problem of design of fiber-glass plastic mirrors for modern vehicle-borne antennas

Abstract:

One of the main problems of modern mirror vehicle-borne antennas fixed on geostationary communications satellites is to ensure the high functional accuracy of refracting surfaces of mirrors under the conditions of limited mass and extreme thermal loading. These conditions lead to the idea of application of fiber-glass plastics with epoxy matrix as the main structural material for mirrors. We propose a non-stationary thermo-elastic mathematical model for a three-layer fiber-glass plastic mirror of an antenna fixed on a geostationary satellite. The results of design of the mirrors of transmitting antenna of the Yamal artificial satellite are presented.
