Experimental simulation of penetration of barriers strikers in composite materials

Abstract:

Methods of experimental modeling in the impact velocity range of 0.1 … 3.5 km / s were obtained depending on modeling for the depth of penetration of metal rods density up to 18.6 g / cm3 in the high-hardness ceramic materials. By comparing the penetrating power of the compact and cylindrical projectiles in barriers made of composite materials and metals on the condition of equal weight per unit area shows high resistance to the impact of boron carbide and SHS ceramics based on titanium diboride and boron carbide.
