Equation of motion of electrorheological suspension

Abstract:

We derive a nonlinear equation of motion for electrorelolgical suspension with the effective viscosity, which depends exponentially on the ratio of the difference of the binding energy of polarized particles and the energy of their relative motion to their average energy. Under large and small gradients of the velocity (at the walls and at the channel’s axis) this equation converts into the Navier-Stokes equation.
