Carbon embrittlement, and failure superconductor ybco. Ii. Finite element schemes

Abstract:

In the first part of this study [1] obtained the governing equations for the carbon embrittlement of high-temperature superconductor YBCO, taking into account the combined effects of these physical processes: (a) the diffusion of carbon, (b) the deposition of carbonate, (c) the flow of non-mechanical energy, and (d) the deformation of the composite “cuprate / carbonate”, as well as the simulated failure of the material. The second part discusses the scheme of the finite element method (FEM) for the equations that describe the diffusion of carbon and the flow of non-mechanical energy.
